“…The most consequential civil liberties case in years is being argued before three judges in California on Wednesday, and it has little to do with the NSA…” No, I had never heard of NSL’s either. Apparently it is not just the CIA and the NSA “Big Brothering” us; the FBI is also in the act. Below is an extract from a piece by Trevor Timm published in the Guardian. Emphasis is mine. Details of the NSL are here and here.“
The NYT recently published an article (Study of covert aid…) which, I am pretty sure, is the first time that a US MSM publication has officially referred to a (as yet secret) CIA report which acknowledges CIA terrorist acts and admits to the failures of CIA terrorist operations.
From International Movement for a Just World THE BLOCKADE AGAINST CUBA — AN ASSAULT UPON HUMANITY’S CONSCIENCE. It is easy to claim that US Main Stream Media has become an organ of the state whose news items and op eds are chosen to engineer the consent of the American people to the foreign policies of the USGovt, or to hide from them the effects of those policies. It is quite another thing to provide facts to back up that claim. This is the first of my posts to do just that, and to try to provide some measure of US MSM mendacity.
In my post “Good Americans: Border/Refugee Chldren” I described some of the work being done by good and decent Americans to alleviate USG done damage to generations of Central American families.
I recently learned, again, about the generosity of good and decent Americans trying to undo a little of the harm done to yet another part of the world by USG foreign policies.
